Happy New Year to all! 2015 was a busy year for Abbink X Co and 2016 is already set to get more so…time for a quick update on where we are now: AXCO moved to the dynamic neighbourhood of East Amsterdam last year and we love our new workspace with huge garden and co-creative-habitants, who are all involved in design & building. We are now finalising the realisation documents for De Baronie, building is set to start this month. The realisation of our Tabak project, now renamed Keizer, has been put in the capable hands of De Nijs project development, so building will start in March 2016 and the apartments are going on sale very soon. We are in the middle of the final design for our Heart of Green project, 60 social houses in the new countryside development Land van Winkel. The preliminary design for the Lifthouses has been warmly embraced by both neighbourhood and the official city council experts and we will continue with the final design to be finished very soon. Our design for the new hall and canopy for Brandwacht & Meijer in Utrecht has been approved by the local council and is now in the process of preparing for realisation in the spring of 2016. Later in the year we will commence the design of several housing clusters for the 3rd phase of Land van Winkel in Abcoude.

We also have a couple of special projects for private clients on the go: a tiny luxurious guest-shed in the village of Zunderdorp, a ship with B&B in the harbours of Amsterdam, and a hillside guesthouse near Fontainebleau overlooking the Seine, for which we are collaborating with Karin Blom van Assendelft for the re-design of the immense gardens.
