In the next few years, a large new settlement will be taking shape on the former grounds of the gunpowder factory in the fortress town of Muiden, home to the famous Muiderslot Castle. The new residential area of De Krijgsman will be a very diverse development, with four main themes – fortress urbanity, industrial, waterline defence and countryside – inspired by all the aspects of cultural heritage of this unique site close to Amsterdam.
Abbink X Co has been selected for the 2nd phase of this development to design several houses which will add to the variety of styles and typologies such as dyke villa’s, canal houses and village dwellings. In the coming months AXCO will be working on this project together with a great team; Faro architecten, Moke architecten, Architectenbureau Hoogeveen and M3H architecten en La4Sale.
